High Demand

Understanding the Complexity

Providing tailored support across complex needs, group care, and high-demand care. Focused on safety, dignity, and empowering both clients and their families.

High-demand care differs greatly from general or group care. Most clients in this category require full or partial physical support — often due to paralysis, neurological conditions, or complex medical needs. My experience supporting these individuals, particularly those classified under Behaviour of Concern (BOC) in Australia, has deepened my understanding of both the physical and emotional demands of this field.

Equipment Mastery and Safety

Working in high-demand settings requires not only compassion but also technical competence. Over the years, I have become proficient in operating essential medical and mobility equipment, including commode chairs, both manual and electric wheelchairs, hoists, and slings. Proper use of these tools ensures safety, dignity, and comfort for clients, while minimizing physical strain for both clients and support staff.

Physical Strength and Holistic Care

Caring for high-demand clients also means maintaining strong physical health and a mindful approach to holistic care. Understanding each client’s medical condition, dietary needs, and physical therapy requirements — such as gentle massage or assisted movement — is crucial. Beyond physical assistance, I focus on creating a respectful and encouraging environment that nurtures both body and spirit.
